Kuumba In Motion offers authentic and accessible weekly gatherings and regional events that encourage you to love well. We believe that art is a catalyst for change; and our intention is to shower the world with Devotional Music - rooted in the Holy Scriptures that inform us of how to live in a wholly holy way. Our music-based initiatives have a driving impact across the B-Hood and beyond.
Kuumba In Motion is dedicated to bringing meaningful, accessible creative opportunities directly to the community. Through dynamic B-Hood Pop Ups and community gatherings like the Sunday Devotionals, we empower participants with the tools for self-expression, leadership, and positive change. B Hood Pop Ups

Our B Hood Pop Ups are spontaneous, fun, and free community arts events that appear in local parks, community centers, and shared spaces. They are designed to break down barriers to participation, offering high-quality, hands-on creative interactions where they are needed most. Each Pop Up is a vibrant, one-day celebration of local talent, community connections, and the pure joy of making art that makes the world more beautiful.
KUUMBA/B-Hood Devotionals

The Devotionals are focused on deep personal expression and spiritual alignment. The goal is to encourage reflection, critical thinking and compassionate living with a life anchored in spiritual study, meditation, and the expression of the gifts that we came to share.
Don't just observe the motion—be the motion! Whether you're an artist looking to share your gifts, a community leader seeking a partnership, or an individual passionate about supporting creativity, there is a place for you with Kuumba In Motion.

Volunteer
Our collective energy and skills are vital to bringing Kuumba In Motion programs to life! Whether you're an experienced artist, a dedicated community organizer, or simply a passionate individual who loves hands-on work, we have a role for you. Volunteer opportunities range from helping set up a B-Hood Pop Up event, assisting artists during youth arts workshops, to offering administrative support or organizing our gift shop. Your contributions are used to keep our programs accessible and impactful.
Partner
Kuumba In Motion seeks meaningful partnerships with cultural institutions, and Artists who share our commitment to community empowerment through creativity. Kuumba is partnering with 1440 Multiversity in Scotts Valley, CA (1440.org) who will host the Annual RIGASA Revival June 5 - 7, 2026. We share in 1440's commitment to live well, love well. Consider partnering with our Arts non-profit; you can host a B-Hood Pop Up at your location, co-sponsor a Devotional series, or provide resources that amplify our mission. Let’s combine our strengths to deepen our community reach and provide sustainable wisdom.

For Participants: Cultivating Personal Growth
Our Arts Play-shops and community events are designed to be more than just creative outlets—they are platforms for making friends which is builds connection and forwards spiritual development across the board.
Skill Mastery
Develop tangible artistic skills across various mediums, guided by professional local artists and mentors. We paint and encourage you to pick up a brush and let your hand reveal its message for you.
Confidence & Voice
Feel the connection with others who serve with you, and who support you in building more loving family and communal relationships. Some folks just need to be heard. At Kuumba, we are learning how to listen to each other.
Creative Problem Solving
Nature is the greatest teacher with plants and herbs that heal. At Kuumba we encourage a plant-based cuisine. We learn of herbs that can heal from herbalists, chefs, and doctors that share their wisdom, knowledge, remedies and recipes at our gatherings.
Leadership Development
We build interpersonal skills, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility as we engage in the Annual RIGASA Revival and other regional events rooted in Devotional music and interactive support engagements and concerts .
